I have always been accused of using far too many !!!!!!!!!!’s in my posts, work documents and pretty much every other piece of correspondence! So what, I say!!
I add the !!!’s because I hope they inspire the happiness or emphasis they are meant to convey in my writing, as I usually am simply writing what the voices in my head tell me, and by golly, some of them are quite enthusiastic!

This is a concept I have carried around in my head almost since I started lampworking a few years ago. I loved reading somewhere the saying in the title “Live Life Like an Exclamation, Not an Explanation!!!” I wanted to share that affirmation in glass, to wear as a reminder of finding joy in what you do do, and not worry about explaining why or what you do not do.
Too often when I was younger, and more worried about what others might think, I found myself explaining and feeling slightly (or quite a bit more) guilty for the things I like to do in my life that are not so mainstream. Like lampworking now!!! But when I was younger, it was a whole lot of other stuff.
I liked to read. A lot. I still do. I don’t go to movies–I have a pair of movie passes from at least 3 years ago in my wallet–and I don’t have cable.
I ski on a monoski, which most people have never heard of, let alone seen. I’ve been monoskiing for somewhere in the neighborhood of 25 years, but every season, I have more people exclaim their surprise when they see it.
I have always loved having a dog and devoting a lot of time to their happiness and exercise. Winnie is my current dog and we play tuggie and chase inside but my favorite place is being outdoors with her. I really like to walk my dog at least once a day, if not 2 or 3 times.
I love to see her amazing enthusiasm, her zest for smelling the same sage and rabbit brush bushes on our route she smelled the day or even hours before. She just is being a dog, but she’s living life with an exclamation in her tail, not needing to explain why she’s so happy….she just IS!!!
So I have finally been able to create in glass the vision in my head of how I wanted to express this concept. I hope you like it too!!!
Smiles, Sheri
